A Master Bathroom Worth Waiting For
This EGS Remodeling project is located in Manheim Township, PA. It features a master bathroom makeover. The work completed includes a large walk-in shower, make-up vanity area and reorganized closet space.
A few years prior to this bathroom renovation project, EGStoltzfus did a kitchen makeover for the homeowners. The motivation behind their bathroom project was the same as their kitchen project – an outdated space that triggered 1990s flashbacks. Our clients wanted a luxurious bathroom experience within a reasonable budget – and with our design-build expertise and some creativity, we accomplished just that.
At the top of our client’s wish list was a large walk-in shower to replace their whirlpool tub – a popular feature in 1990s new home construction. The client also wanted a separate make-up vanity area with lots of natural light.
Another item on the wish list was reorganized closet space for more storage. This would only be feasible if there was room left in the budget. Our design-build process allowed us to focus on ways to stretch the budget so our client could have everything on their list.
Our team recommended some material ‘switch-outs’ which allowed us to stretch the budget but still give the room an amazingly lavish look. Ceramic porcelain tile was used in place of more expensive Carrara marble, and high-end decorative tile was used sparingly to create eye-catching accents.
Another switch-out was the use of stock cabinetry for the make-up vanity, with a common yet luxurious granite countertop. The dark cabinetry combined with the granite delivered the functionality and high-end look the client wanted.
Our client was very pleased with the outcome of their second EGS renovation project, which is a great example of what can be accomplished with an experienced design-build team and a little ingenuity. Making just a few changes to the material selection allowed our client to do more with their budget, like indulging in upgraded fixtures and getting their new closet space.
